He didn't get into the math, mercifully, but the basic idea is that a "flat" universe would have complete "balance" in terms of how much energy there is and how much is allowed to appear "out of nothing". In other words, all matter/energy CAN just pop out of nothing.<br /><br />However I'll be the first to note that for creationists, and really for physicists too, this just presents the question "why do the laws work like that and not some other way, and why are there even any physics at all?". I think it's an interesting question myself, BUT I'll note that the answer most certainly should NOT be "I'll just insert an all-powerful diety here to explain it even though there is no evidence for it nor would it be testable".Dark Jaguarnoreply@blogger.com
