If you have a garbage disposal, drop some orange/lemon peels (or a chopped up lemon) down it and run (with water) for a bit.<br />3. Check vents and drains for mold and/or water.<br />4. Check the ceiling, too: I had problems with mold in my last apartment, and part of it was remedied by cleaning the walls & ceiling with bleach.<br />5. Clean out the fridge.<br />6. Shampoo the carpet.<br />7. Febreze everything.<br />8. Buy a decent air freshener or two.<br />9. Talk to the neighbors/landlord about it.
