You Know, I Hate Flooders

What's really annoying about them is that they essentially stifle threads by sheer volume. If one question manages to go by unnoticed, they start declaring victory. If you stop or slow the flood to focus on one thing at a time, they'll claim you're silencing them.

So, who's your most loved/hated flooder ever, and what sorts of things oozed barfly from their keyboards?

For me, I've got fond/painful memories of Kilik of the JREF forums, who posted loooooooooong posts featuring multi-genre woo and lots of colorful pictures, including an image of a Magic: The Gathering card as evidence of psi. Did you know that Jesus was a martial artist and used his skills to defeat and escape from Roman soldiers? The Bible needs more ninjas.

In unrelated news, I think I've got my 133t noodle skillz back.

Hmm, I wonder what could possibly be making you think of flooders...

It is very funny how I never once mentioned anything dealing with the “woo” mentality. I don’t care! That is between you, quackwatch, vitamin companies and your egos. Have fun! Good luck! It seems that you have an agenda, like the rest of your clan, a clan because you are no different from religious fanatics or psychics; you worship “science” as your truth. But your version of science is not a clinical one. It is not studied or practiced. It is one based on other peoples (the real scientists and doctors) discoveries. You study a Hollywood science. Pop garbage. A group of guys who loves to suck off each other’s egos! Best of luck! Because you care??? What a joke. Love the censorship from Skeptico and Photon!

Typical doggerel. My motivations are irrelevant. And noble, by the way.

Are you one of those people who thinks personal experience is the only reality, and that other people's knowledge is never applicable?

If you've got something better than the scientific method, I'm all ears.

You study a Hollywood science. Pop garbage.

Funny. The stuff I tend to denounce is often popular, appeals to its popularity as evidence, and often has claims of the purveyors being Hollywood-style scientists working in obscurity and coming up with The Troof all on their own.

Considering that the people they "censor" generally aren't contributing anything anyway, I don't think it really qualifies as censorship.

If only the writing style didn't give you away so readily, anony-weapon.

Oh yeah, and sorry BD, but I couldn't resist flooding him back. Please don't hate me. Of course, the tactic worked, and he left the following arguments standing:

-"According to Christian beliefs, Jesus was God. Jesus died. Therefore Nietzsche was right when he said 'God is dead.'"

-"You still haven't told us what evidence would falsify ID."

The ironic part is that those are the two easiest ones to argue against. The first was practically a joke, and all he had to do for the second one was give us that example of evidence. Of course, his responses to everything elseare the same old lies, BS, evasions, diversions, logical fallacies, and floods he's been using this whole time, with a few more accusals of "semantic games" and a "holier than though" attitude thrown in.

Weapon, you aren't holier than me, but your logic is. It's so holey, in fact, that there's no logic left, just holes.

Because I can't resist this tu quoque: The devastating truth is that Weapon has never seen a deity, especially not one designing a universe.

Of course, all the stuff he accuses us of never seeing are A) not necessary to be seen. (Does he protest the existence of forensics in court?) or B) Have been seen and documented very carefully. Just look at all the informative games they've played with fruit flies.

Oh: Anonny here probably isn't Weapon: According to the sitemeter, he's in New York. Weapon was from Las Vegas, IIRC.

Thank you for the clarification. I respect that.

Ah, okay then. I guess that Weapon probably would have used the word "Devastating" a few more times, and spread out that much information over three or four posts, anyways.

Hello, the guy from New York here….
Question:
How come most of the fan population for Rock Star Ryan’s rock group, “whatevertheyarecalled”, look like they are in a mild state of apoplexy, meat-coma, and very old? What is with the beer bellies? Must be Randi’s influence? He is surely a great specimen of great mental and physical health. The Penn and Teller school of health. “Bypass is only natural” What great minds of critical thinking can conceive of that concept?

Boy is that off-topic. And pretty irrelevant to anything that gets posted.

What is with the beer bellies? Must be Randi’s influence?

I wouldn't know. I haven't gotten a good look at them. I'm also a teetotaler, so I wouldn't know much about beer bellies in general.

He is surely a great specimen of great mental and physical health. The Penn and Teller school of health. “Bypass is only natural” What great minds of critical thinking can conceive of that concept?

Randi is old. That's why he's not in perfect health. I don't see Alex Chiu staying young. Medicine hasn't gotten to Star Trek 140 year life expectancies, yet.

Of course, I don't claim that bypasses are natural, and I seriously doubt anyone here would make such a silly claim.

As if it would matter.

I have very happy to see that this is “off -topic.” You guys need more interruptions in your “critical thinking”… Need to be more spontaneous…. You need to learn about mistakes, controlled chaos and imperfections.

should have said "i am very happy"

You do not have a bypass because you get old. This is why this type of information should be studied by clinicians. You guy should stick to sports, beer and breasts.
Just because you may know a pop version of what an amino acid is, does not make you an educated person. Or a "critical thinker"....

So, in other words, we need to get distracted by unimportant details when we're doing our blogging hobby.

You do realize that this blog isn't my life, right? I guess next you're going to tell me that when I manage to get some quality videogame time in, I need to be running Picture-in-picture so that I can be getting all the latest celebrities-I've-never-bothered-to-remember sex scandals, rather than focus on what I do for the love of doing it.

You do not have a bypass because you get old. This is why this type of information should be studied by clinicians.

So I oversimplified. Being old makes you more statistically vulnerable to such things.

You guy should stick to sports, beer and breasts.

1. I don't pay attention to sports.
2. I'm a teetotaler.
3. Here's some breast stuff.

Just because you may know a pop version of what an amino acid is, does not make you an educated person. Or a "critical thinker"....

Duh. It's the fact that I avoid logical fallacies when I can. Also, education doesn't inherently mean anything.

Oh, and what's with this "pop version" stuff? Are you one of those nuts who redefines amino acids to be magical?

Is it kind of like how free energy nuts don't follow the "pop version" of the laws of thermodynamics that are based on all the experimental data thus far?

What are you trying to accomplish with your tangent anon?

But your version of science is not a clinical one. It is not studied or practiced.

Hilarious.
