I've Found My Savior

I traveled across the blogosphere. From the ruins of abandoned blogspots, to the degree mills of the ID crowds, right across the deep pits of Scienceblogs. And everywhere I went I saw people just like you, living as slaves, blind to it all! But if I became a legend then that's wrong, because my name isn't important. There's someone else. The man who sent me out here, the man who told me to walk the Internet. He has saved your lives so many times and you never even knew he was there. He never stops. He never stays. He never asks to be thanked. But I've seen him, I know him... I love him... And I know what he can do.

And his name is The Doctor.

I'll have to say. I caught two episodes on BBC America this weekend and they kicked ass.

One was what appeared to be the second half of a two episode story with the "Blood" family or something where the Doctor lost his identity/memory. Very cool.

The second was about the "Weeping Angels" also cool.

I hadn't seen a Doctor who since watching the old Doctor on PBS with the big fro back when I was younger.

Yeah. Only episode of the old series I can recall was something like "The Happiness Patrol", and that's pretty vague. Sometime I need to knuckle under and find 'em to catch up. I've been following the new series fairly well as it comes out on Sci-Fi and BBC America.

Yeah, then angels in "Blink" were cool. Probably the best of the no-Doctor episodes, and it definitely ranks as one of my favorites overall.

I liked how they handled the chase: You can't see them actually move. You've just got this fanged angel appearing closer and closer each time the light flickers. >:)

I've been watching the new series since it started back up, and it is great. I've since just finished, the Key of Time 4th Doctor serial, which has been showing on PBS. And I am working on the First Doctor season 1. It is not at the same level as the new stuff, but it is good in its own right.

I also got my wife hooked on the doctor, and she doesn't much care for scifi.

And, from what I understand, this savior will also be returning in 3 days...

Reverend: both great episodes, though it's hard to find ones that aren't, in this new series. I recommend Netflixing the season sets, if you can.

I'm actually so pleased with the new seasons that I consider the old stuff to be non-canon. It's just too hard to go back and watch the older, lower-budget stuff after these. The quality really was appallingly bad.

The good thing is that it appears that the producer, Russell T Davies has set up the new episodes in an excellent way for doing this.

According to the BBC, anyway. I know I'll be [acquiring in a totally legal fashion] the episode ASAP. In fact, I need to [look into legally acquiring] the new season of Torchwood as well.
