Well, my blog's been in limbo for a long time. I'm once again thinking about attempting a revival, though I'll probably set a more modest goal and work up from there: One post a week, but it won't be here. It'll be a WordPress blog, and the URL will probably be more accurate (Edit: It's http://thebronzeblog.wordpress.com/ ), rather than this old holdover from Ryan's days. I'll be doing some rewrites of Doggerel, applying what I've learned over my time as a blogger and commentator. I'll probably recruit my brother to handle the coding and layout.On politics, I felt the need to share a comic about an executive trend I continue to be outraged about, regardless of who's in office.

1. What's "sinful" about lacking belief in something with no evidence to back it up?
2. I don't take bribes. I don't cave into threats. Even if I believed in the absurdities of heaven and hell, they simply lack the coercive power you wish they did. Your god is blatantly evil, and even if I did believe in he existed, there's no way I can imagine intentionally siding with such evil short of mind control.
3. You are a hedonist who only values personal pleasure, no matter how much it costs the people around you. The only thing that separates you from the normal kind is that you're deferring gratification.
Christ, not this shit again. Why do religious fundamentalists think an atheist blog is a good place to find converts? Most of us are already familiar with the Bible and its claims. Why do you think we became atheists in the first place?
One of the biggest disappointments with Obama is not only the failure to dismantle all the terrifying, unconstitutional covert police state apparatus built by the Bush administration, but to continue and quietly expand it.
The so-called "War on Drugs" was bad enough for the cause of Civil Liberties, but the "War on Terror" has been countless times worse.
From what I've seen, the two have merged: a lot of the alleged anti-terror measures are being used primarily for enforcing anti-drug laws.
That comic puts the point very well, but if I must criticize that comic in one respect, I just don't find it funny. I mean it's a well written point, and it would be all well and good if it wasn't also apparent, from the weird animal people, that I was also supposed to laugh. I just don't see the joke in most of those "Modern World" comics.

We do have common ground in that we're minorities subject to religiously inspired bigotry like yours, so we typically have sympathy towards one another like emotionally healthy human beings would.
