That was... rather horrifying.
There's literally nothing that the (F)LDS could do that would surprise me any more... Although I do have to note that there are a bunch of secular establishments of the "tough love" / "boot camp" variety that are just as bad.
Anybody here read Alice Miller's "For Your Own Good"? I think that's got more light to shed on the matter than the specifics of any particular belief system...
Yeah, I've read a few stories about those, too. Quite evil.
