Flowchart Fun! (Rough Draft)

Since the Reverend has recently reminded me of the fun Science vs. Faith flowchart, I decided to make my own:

Hopefully, clicking will bring up the thing in better resolution. Feel free to copy and distribute.

Hehe, not bad. It would help a bit if you put arrows on the ends on the lines, though. Without them, it's hard in a couple points to see which direction stuff is going.

I'll be putting them in the final version.

I'm liking it. I definitely second the arrows - they'll make the final much easier. Currently I have to keep remembering that lines without a Yes/No are going into the box from somewhere else.

Great job, BD! I would add something like accuse skeptic of being 12 years old.

I'd suggest improving the contrast: Dark text on dark(-ish) colo(u)rs is hard to read, and when printed on a B/W printer is even harder to read.

Having said that, it strikes me the diagram presupposes woo-woos think linearly; i.e., one thing leads to another. (Given that we're talking about woo-woos here, I'm not going to call it thinking from cause to effect or anything like that.)

For instance: "Does the SKEPTIC point out that the journal isn't peer-reviewed?" has a "Y" link of "Redefine Peer-review". Yes, if the woo-woo were to actually pay attention to what the skeptic says, that is a possible response. But pay attention is not something woo-woos are known for…

So you also need a "la-la-la" exit from each decision (each box as well?) which goes to the same place: "Goto a random place of your own choosing. That place does not have to be on this flow-chart."

Tried using light colors, but I guess they just weren't light enough. I'll work on it, and include a B&W version.

I realize woos don't think as linearly as the flowchart, but it covers some of the dominant themes. Guess you could say this covers some of the more probable paths, not an absolute one.

Also, anyone know a free place where I can store this thing at full size? Flickr's not doing it, and I'd like to make the Illustrator file available for people to tweak to their own tastes.

To the comment about linear thinking, I think this chart does a pretty good job of covering the average responses you get from average woos. After all, not all woos are as mind numbingly er... mind numbing as cocksnack

It is truly fun when its zoomed. I'm completely ignoring the fact that it is hard to read. The best solution would be to design this from a good flowchart software .
