100th Skeptics' Circle

Well, Orac himself hosts the 100th Skeptics' Circle. It's been a fun run getting to the big round number.

Open thread as usual, but suggestions that we switch to base six are FORBIDDEN! Because I want to be the one who takes the credit for suggesting it.

"Two plus two is ... ten.

IN BASE FOUR! I'm fine."

Well, it would make sense, if you think about it. One hand could the the 'ones', and the other hand could be the 'tens'. It's at least as logical as base "9+1*". Instead of using all our fingers for the 'ones', we would only use the cluster on one hand.

*I think we need a new name for the number that's 9+1. We shouldn't call it base 10, because every base has a 10. Base glorp, maybe?

Extremely OT, but I posted "The Fundie Mentality" on the scam.com message board and it led, somehow, to one poster invoking clearly invoking No True Scotsman ("Hitler was most certainly NOT a born-again Bible-believing *true* Christian.") When I called her on it...well, see for yourself...

Look up "cognitive dissonance" in the dictionary and you'll see tig's picture right there.
