Dense, Symbolist Tome

Okay, so this post won't be nearly as dense or tome-y as Moby Dick. My brother suggested I post my endorsement for one of the atheism symbols floating about at Pharyngula. AA picked the "empty set" symbol while I went for this:

I like this symbol since it could be plausibly linked to something else if you find yourself in a situation hostile to atheists. I'd say it's the logo for the Airex corporation from Wipeout:Pure. It also kind of looks like a sleeping abstract question mark.

Of course, that sort of thing may not work out for you. I just kind of like the way it looks. Feels vaguely upbeat, which is one of the things I believe PZ was going for.

I was only kidding! I like the a-period for pretty much the same reasons you do. It looks like these two are front runners, along with affinity.

Oops! Looks like I deleted one comment for a typo, and the one before it by accident. I had just said:

A-period sucks! Empty set rules! Nanny-nanny-boo-boo!

Sorry. Damn my perfectionism.

Why must you mess up my blog. Listen, I'm going to draw a line. This side of the Internet is mine. That side is yours. Now quit touching me!

I'm not touching you! I'mmm nooot tooouuuchiiing yooouuu!

The empty set makes the most sense, in my opinion. Additionally, I'm opposed to anything having to do with infinity, as it's the religiosos who go on making claims of infinite life, infinitely powerful deities, etc.

I just added a certain three letter word to my endorsement.

You better get back on the campaign trail. I just pulled a publicity stunt by republishing every favorable comment about the empty set symbol into a single comment over at PZ's.

I'm crying I'm laughing so hard.

I don't mind this symbol but it's gotta be black and white. The color just doesn't cut it. Also it reminds me of the symbol for Red Hat's free-ware OS, Fedora Core.

Meh. The 'affinity' just looks goofy to me. The a. is okay, but I'm choosing the natural because I am a music nerd (amongst other -nerd descriptors that apply to me, of course).

My vote goes to the sideways a. It's just got a style the others are lacking, IMO.

Ahhhh... You're not only brothers, but brothers in charms as well. Groovy eh. LOL!

Oh, how witty. I haven't heard that one since middle school.

Yay! I see the Creationists education showing through.

eh, the girls and I went for the affinity symbol. We just stuck it up on our blogs without comment to see what would happen. Sitemeter hasn't recorded any out-clicks on it though. (We linked it to the Why I am not a Christian essay at positiveatheism.org.)
