Unsurprised

Just thought I'd bring a tiny bit more attention to this: The US is still torturing.

A while back, I was looking at the stuff about warrantless wiretaps, abuse of state secrets privilege, and so on. I thought, "At least it's been a while since I heard something about torture still going on." So much for that. If anyone knows of politicians who are doing something to stop the torture and other abuses involved with the so-called "war on terror," let me know, so that I can vote for them. Lip service alone won't do.

I'm curious, DM: What's your stance on torture?

Since you believe in Hell, you probably endorse the use of torture. Hell itself is an exercise in God torturing people for purposeless fun.

my definition of hell is getting back what you sow....

Your version of hell still sounds like pointless, childish revenge. Real justice isn't about hurting someone back.

Revenge... The most worthless of causes.

Of course, I doubt you care about the moral high ground. Christian fundamentalists don't believe in the struggle for moral objectivity: They like the subjectivism and arbitrariness of Divine Command Theory.

Been a while, nice to see more posts!

Yay! Fellow Linkara fan! He's the good kind of christian, the kind who doesn't bother proselytizing.

Ah good, torture... It's amazing just how pathetically badly Obama has held to his campaign promises. On just about every issue, he ends up giving up everything except the tiniest shred to the other party. Mind you, if the republicans had a president, I doubt even that tiniest shred would be spared, but that's not much of an excuse. Every single time, he seems like he's going to take a stand, then at the final hour, just gives in. Well, yeah. So yay, torture's still around.
