Here's your chance: I'm thinking of going to this rally in Austin. There any official dress code for people holding picket signs or anything? I'm new at meatspace protests and such.
Wear comfortable clothes, good walking shoes; a t-shirt with a pithy saying; and, depending on the time of day; sunblock and a hat. I would take earplugs, too, in case it gets a little deafening.
What kind of reception are you expecting? If it's firehoses, I suggest putting your cell phone into a zip-locked baggie.
If you're driving, park your car 5 - 10 minutes away so that the Other Side doesn't vandalize it nor identify you.

Your shiny bronze skin should be attire enough.
Go dressed like this.
