It seems something from XKCD came true, almost: Noticed there's now an audio preview option for YouTube comments. I hope that lowers the stupid, but I doubt it.
The really stupid people won't bother clicking it. It won't do much. Besides, they might be stupid enough to not realize it needed correcting if they clicked said button.
At any rate, I make an active effort to NEVER scroll down past the video I'm attempting to watch. I never post on youtube, and I never read comments. It's just better that way.
When you do start posting your own youtube videos, you can expect my commentary in the safe confines of your own slice of the internet rather than on that wasteland.
Never read YouTube comments. Ever. They just make me wish that the LHC really would destroy the Earth.
Funnily enough, in my local vernacular to call someone a "tube" means "lame moron" (or at least it did a few years back). Truth in advertising for once... ;)

Some might click for the gimmick aspect. That's about the most we can hope for.
I read XKCD's post on the subject. Someone made fun of the feature and then noted that their own post sounded stupid when read back to them. Hmm...
